The Representative

Physical life happens locally.
Even the old cities have long
ago broken up, the roads torn up
and converted to green.

Science and technology had to
be refocused on the locally useful.
We know a lot about permaculture
and decentralized fabrication,

about botany, eco, health, small group
psychology. But we also have a rich
global culture, physically built on the
maglev and second world networks.

Mentally the global is largely second
world. We escape the local confines,
exchange knowledge, work together,
run our federations, keep watch.
